The activities of Jananeethi Institute broadly fall under three heads:

1. Knowledge Generation– including research, position papers, documentation, fact finding missions and alternate reports;
   
2. Advocacy & Outreach – including campaigns, networking with national and international organizations, public discourses, promotion of basic values (democracy, human rights, rule of law, secularism and diversity);
   
3. Capacity Building & advisory services – including development of legal resources, data bank, and customized training modules.
